Progress! - This Is Why We Do It

 Xyle has been part of our daily program since he was about six years old. Initially, he spent his days lying down in a bed and was unable to sit due to poor neck control. Through the intervention of the speech therapist, Xyle now chews soft food and eats everything.

Xyle sits unsupported for a good period of time, interacting with his peers.

He is now a part of the Outreach Program where he is learning to take steps using the aid of a walker.  

Congratulations to the first-ever graduates from The Friends Developmental Centre. We are super proud of their accomplishments and wish them the best

June 2024- Our theme was " Under the Sea and we did some sensory cooking!

May 2024- Denea got a new state of the art wheelchair; our students completed a lot of artwork; a new gait trainer!

March 2024- Mrs . Colbourne, Ms Kesia DeSilver & Ms Latoya Blair were awarded end-of-term prizes for their term contribution

January 8th 2024-First Day Back & putting our newly acquired donations to use. Huge thank you to our donators ( Patrice Gryger via the Swiss Embassy).

October 2023- Character Week

July 2023- Family Fun Day at Merryland Amusement Park

 Many of our students don’t get the opportunity to experience the outside world around them due to many reasons such as stigma or lack of appropriate transportation. The summer program held at FDC during the month of July is an opportunity for everyone to have fun whilst stimulating their senses.
